What are you chasing?

Championships, fame, fortune, love, acceptance? All of us are chasing something that we believe will ultimately fulfill us and cement our legacy. At some point, we will find that these things still leave us empty and weighed down. In 2025, let's discover a GLORY that never fades, that frees us to go all out on and off the field to reflect love and hope for others!

From my Glory to His glory.

You don’t have to shy away from glory; you just need to reorient Who gets it.

  • CHASING GLORY

  • REVEALED GLORY

  • REFLECTING GLORY

  • LASTING GLORY

Join us as we dive into these four key concepts throughout the year to understand how you can go from chasing glory for self to living satisfied with giving God glory in all you do.

CHASING GLORY

Receiving glory in the form of honor, praise, admiration, or rewards will naturally happen throughout your athletic career. But it’s when you find yourself chasing glory that it becomes a problem. It puts you out of balance with God’s plan, which is to give Him all the glory for what He has done for you and through you.

“Everyone who bears my name and is created for my glory.
I have formed them; indeed, I have made them.”
- Isaiah 43:7

REVEALED GLORY

When the Lord saves one of His children,  not only are they redeemed and in right-standing before Him, but they are born again. A believer receives a new heart, one that is capable of loving Him and following His commands. With the help of the Holy Spirit,  the Truth is revealed to them. God's glory is evident to all in creation (Psalm 19:1) but it is through His Word that God reveals his glorious character to the believer.  As a coach or athlete, it is this revelation that changes our perspective, altering our focus from chasing self-glorification to reflecting God's eminent glory.

“The Word became flesh and dwelt among us. We observed His glory, the glory as the one and only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.”
–John 1:14

 REFLECTING GLORY

True surrender comes from trusting God in all areas of your life—including your pursuits as a competitor. Thankfully, your relationship with Jesus comes with an incredible helper called the Holy Spirit, who guides us through the process of spiritual transformation. As you trust God more each day, it will show up in two areas of your life: how you manage your time and respond to others. Both are key in your desire to reflect His glory in competition and life.

"We all, with unveiled faces, are looking as in a mirror at the glory of the Lord and are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory; this is from the Lord who is the Spirit."
- 2 Corinthians 3:18

LASTING GLORY

Chasing after your own glory produces temporary happiness and fulfillment. It can also lead to selfishness and pride. But when your hope is in God’s lasting glory, you will seek His Kingdom first and experience true joy and purpose. God's glory  lasts far beyond the temporary highs you can experience in this life.

“For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be the glory forever. Amen.”
- Romans 11:36
